Konica Minolta has introduced the bizhub 650 multi-functional product (MFP), which offers print, copy, scan and fax functionality for high-end office workgroups and applications that require 50 pages per minute (ppm) color and 65ppm black and white document production.

Besides providing an effective black-and-white replacement MFP in its pleasing-to-the-eye 360-degree design, the MFP also provides a high maximum monthly duty cycle, quick warm-up time, and larger paper capacity.

Some of the key features of the product are:

* 50 ppm color output and 65 ppm black and white output
* New 360-degree design and color scheme.
* InfoLine status reporting with new LED lights.
* Has on-board color touch screen control panel with thumbnail preview and programmable shortcut keys
* Advanced security features including hard drive overwrite function, LDAP authentication and an optional biometric authentication unit.
* Tandem laser print head with polygon mirror.
* 3,650 sheet paper capacity and enhanced paper handling – up to 100 lb. cover.
* Network scanning: Email, FTP, SMB (Desktop), User Box (HDD) and TWAIN.

The suggested retail price for the bizhub 650 is about $31,000.
Konica Minolta has launched the bizhub C451, which highlights the rapid shift to color printing currently underway in the market. Capable of printing very fast in color and cost-effectively in black and white, the C451 is a useful multi-purpose solution for high-end office workgroups and applications that require 45 pages per minute (ppm) color and 45 ppm black and white document production.

The bizhub C451 extends the company’s advancement in technology with the bizhub OP, Emperon Print Controller, Simitri HD (High Definition) Color Polymerized Toner, and the first Biometric Authentication Unit, in which the vein patterns of a finger are scanned, encrypted, stored, and used to distinguish individuals.

The MFP includes features such as the tandem laser print head and improvements that deliver better image quality, reliability and enhanced productivity. Listed below are some of the enhanced features of the new model:
• It is one of the smallest and most compact in its class.
• Large capacity toner cartridges lower the cost per copy and can be replaced on the fly.
• Support for IPv6 next generation Networking Protocol.
• New 8.5-inch color LCD display control panel, that can be tilted both horizontally and vertically, to preview data and display thumbnail images to see the job before it prints.

Ricoh has introduced a the latest version of its Print & Copy Control (PCC v3) software solution embedded in its multifunction products (MFPs).

This software integrates with the Equitrac Office 4 and Equitrac Express 4 software solutions and enhances security whereby only authenticated users can release their documents through a PIN code, user ID/password or an identification card. Users can manage all account information from one location thus helping them save time and money. The centralized system helps companies improve document management efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.

Print & Copy Control is easy to deploy and configure in Enterprise environments with support for network installation, helping companies that use multiple MFPs to integrate their machines seamlessly.
The OKI Printing Solutions C5550n multifunction product (MFP), targeted at small-to-medium sized groups, offers output in high definition (HD) color, while enhancing office productivity and efficiency by helping streamline document workflow processes.
The MFP boasts monochrome print and copy speeds of 32 pages per minute (ppm) and color speed of up to 20ppm. The output is of 1200 x 600 dpi print quality, as it combines microfine toner and multilevel LED heads. Moreover, the device can handle a wide range of media and can also support 8.5” x 47.24” banner printing.
The C5550n also offers walk-up analog fax and scan-to-functionality, thereby allowing business to reduce costs and optimize usage of office space. It also comes with various in-built software applications to support optical character recognition and document organization and management.
Xerox is marketing a series of new color multifunction products (MFPs) - along with the DocuColor 260, 242 and 252 - that offer new options for producing high-end, laser-quality color prints and everyday business documents.

Designed for the needs of small and medium businesses, the WorkCentre 7328, 7335 and 7345 systems print and copy at 26 to 35 ppm in color and 28 to 45ppm in black-and-white.

These models join the full Xerox office portfolio, which includes MFPs that run up to 95 ppm. Xerox claims that these models produce permanent images that will not smudge or smear, can handle a wide variety of papers, and maintain their rated speed no matter how much color is used on the page. They also scan and include advanced security features to protect confidential information.
