Aleratec has introduced a new standalone hard disk drive sanitizer and duplicator all in one unit, HDD Cruiser, which can simultaneously sanitize up to 4 HDDs and duplicate up to 3 HDDs simultaneously. Sanitization capability is very important because of the frequent upgrading of drives these days and therefore, the need for removal of confidential data from old drives.
One of the highlights of the HDD Cruiser is that it is a standalone device and does not require a computer for operation. This means that a computer does not have to be tied up for hours when the device is duplicating or sanitizing a hard disk drive.
The HDD Cruiser has individual, removable, locking, aluminum drive trays. When performing both sanitizing and duplicating, the controller must access the entire capacity of each drive, so the drives must run for extended periods and cooling is of utmost importance. Therefore, the HDD Cruiser has 10 ultra quiet cooling fans while the proprietary aluminum drive trays offer very good thermal conductivity.
