Samsung has unveiled the new SyncMaster 220TN monitor, the company's first VoIP-enabled network monitor. Featuring a built-in camera, microphone and speaker, the SyncMaster 220TN monitor enables web conferencing and, with a 22-inch widescreen and a 2.0M pixel camera, the 220TN monitor is enabled to support multiple work applications.
The 220TN monitor offers a high resolution of 1680 x 1050. Coupled with a wide 16:10 aspect ratio, the SyncMaster 220TN monitor features a 5 ms GTG response time, a 700:1 contrast ratio and 300cd/m2 brightness. Samsung says the model is equipped to produce crisp, true-to-life images, while the wide 170/160 viewing angle further enhances the overall viewing experience. The monitor also incorporates dual inputs for DVI-D and analog.
The SyncMaster 220TN monitor is priced at $1249 MSRP. The monitor is currently available at a variety of retail outlets and through Samsung resellers and distribution channels. Like all Samsung displays, the 220TN monitor is backed by a three-year limited warranty on labor and parts, including the backlight, as well as toll-free technical support for the life of the display.

Polycom has introduced a new model in its SoundPoint IP desktop phone line, the SoundPoint IP 560. The phone system enables full GigE data transmission between the network and an end-userâs computer, enabling a single IP connection to support the desktop.
In addition to its GigE support, the SoundPoint IP 560 features Polycomâs high definition voice technology â Polycom HD Voice. A key component of HD Voice is the use of a standard wideband voice codec (ITU standard G.722), which Polycom claims enables high definition voice transmission. Polycom HD Voice also includes its patented Acoustic Clarity Technology which provides noise reduction, echo cancellation and full duplex speakerphone capabilities.
The SoundPoint IP 560 has four-lines and includes advanced SIP features and capabilities, such as shared call/bridge line appearance, busy lamp field (BLF), presence, text messaging, and buddy lists. It includes an integrated XHTML micro-browser that enables users to take advantage of productivity-enhancing Web-based applications. The new phone has been tested and certified to deliver interoperability and support with Polycom's growing list of over 25 SIP-based call control platform partners including 3Com, BroadSoft, Digium, Interactive Intelligence, Sylantro, and other Polycom VoIP Interoperability Partners (VIP).
