Portable cabin, a leading provider of modular buildings and both temporary and permanent accommodation solutions in the UK, has delivered a relocatable classroom accommodation for a major upgrade and rebuilding programme in Northumberland’s schools for GB Building Solutions.

The relocatability and high-quality of the Portable cabin buildings were cited as the key factors for the award of the project.

The 64m² Portable cabin classrooms buildings exceed DfES size guidelines. These buildings can be operational within a few hours of their arrival on-site, thus causing minimal disruption to the school proceedings. The classrooms come equipped with four toilet facilities, including a disabled cubicle; moreover, there is sufficient space provided in the lobby areas of the classroom for children to hang their belongings. The designs are such that the classrooms have good ventilation, high level of natural light and considerable energy efficiency.

Another key benefit of Portable cabins is that the classrooms were delivered on site fully fitted with the requisite electrical and plumbing work, which reduced the need for additional labor on the site.

Showing Amdega’s contemporary range of conservatories, Amdega has launched a series of summerhouses.  Designs for these houses suit various styles and sizes of gardens with the ability to be positioned in the sun or shade. Interestingly, models that can be rotated to follow the sun through out the day are also available.

The summerhouses are made from durable, high-quality timber that can be stained or painted to suit any garden audience. A key feature is the attention to detail with traditional leaded glass; internal side frames are lined with exterior-quality oak veneer and externally clad with Western Red Cedar wood to continue with the upmarket finishing of the buildings. Floors are solid timber and roof shingles are made from Cedar wood, which over time, mellows to a soft hue to reflect the subtlety of an English garden.
