A new school in Devon village, which is likely to be operational by April 2009, will be using interactive whiteboards in the classrooms, reports This Is Exeter (http://www.thisisexeter.co.uk/). This is in line with the growing trend amongst schools and educational institutions in the UK to invest in electronic/ IT-enabled teaching aids, particularly interactive whiteboards.

The school management aims to help the school, capable of accommodating about 120 students and being built at a cost of about £3m, deliver “21st century learning”, which is precisely what technologies like electronic whiteboards enable. Interestingly, according to the report, the school will have feature asked for by the students.

Besides latest educational gadgets like whiteboards, the school is also expected to feature sports facilities, wildlife wetland and outdoor learning facilities.
